Tata Conswood plywood
is made from selec 100 per cent single species
Silver Oak trees, both on the face as well
as the core, and is chemical-impregnated
for greater strength. Marine Conswood ply
is PF resin bonded under high temperature
and pressure to keep the bonding intact.
This makes it Boiling Water Proof (BWP).
The finished plywood is subjected to toxic
chemical treatment to provide protection
against insects like borers and termites
and fungi. The whole process is monitored
by skilled personnel and strict quality
control measures at every stage of production
help eliminate imperfections, if any.
Tata's heavy-duty
plywood is available in:
Shuttering
and film-faced plywood
Conswood shuttering and film-faced ply are
made from selected Silver Oak trees and
chemically impregnated to make them highly
durable and sturdy. This enables repeated
use in construction works. They can be reused
as many as twenty times on either side under
optimum conditions. With proper care in
handling, use, stripping and storing, they
can be adapted to many other uses as well.
Marine
plywood
Conswood Marine ply is made from timber
of a single species. Selected pieces of
core and face veneers are PF resin bonded.
It is ideal where strength, durability,
dimensional stability and elegance are required.
Since no rubber or inferior wood is used
for the manufacture of this plywood, it
is more resistant to water and insect attack.
It also holds paints and varnishes longer
and has excellent insulation properties.
Further, the finished plywood is subjected
to chemical treatment for overall protection
against insects, borers, termites and fungi.
Commercial
plywood
The face veneer thickness of this ply, in
keeping with the set standards, makes it
both long-lasting and easy to work upon.
While it is not advisable to use this ply
for shuttering purposes, it can be put to
extensive use in internal applications where
it is not exposed to moisture.
Block
board
Conswood Block board is an exterior grade
wood panel called 'EXCOM'. Conswood Block
Board WBP Grade are made from 100 per cent
estate grown single species Silver Oak timber
and manufactured with great care to ensure
highest quality standards. It is made up
of solid 'batten core', consisting of narrow
battens of wood measuring 30mm laid side
by side and covered with a few plies of
veneer on both sides.
The battens for the core
are cut from plantation timber seasoned
to a moisture content not exceeding 12 per
cent and the width of each strip are symmetrically
uniform. These boards are well balanced
around the centre line and have excellent
dimensional stability. They are also weather
and boil proof and hold paints and varnish
durably long. It is essentially a furniture
panel, and in a modified form, it can be
used as flush doors.
Hi-end
wood composites
This series is a shift away from the conventional
plywood and targets the OEM's and end users.
This range mainly constitutes of
Fire
retardant composite panel: The fire
retardant plywood has a fire rating between
30 to 120 minutes and is ideally suited
for application in bus body floors, amongst
others, for which it was originally engineered.
It also finds its use in residential application,
more specifically constituting the kitchen
area. It is manufactured to meet the stringent
ISO 5509: 2000 standards, needless to say
it has high strength and mechanical properties
as compared to the regular marine grade.
Environmentally superior,
it can confidently be used for engineering
applications where load bearing is an important
criteria. Also, where form and functions
have to be met in specific applications
requiring high strength to weight ratio,
the variety is a perfect fit.
Sound
absorbing composite panels: The sound
absorbing composite panel is the new plywood
variant to insulate from sound pollution.
It is ideally suggested for applications
in BPO's, home theatres, amphi-theatres,
auditoriums and in areas where sound decibel
levels are required to be contained. It
has been tested for performance at accredited
laboratories and passes the requisite stringent
standards under ISO 9901 and ISO 140.
The panels have
a unique PF based resin formulation specially
developed for the purpose and like in the
case of the Marine plywood all the veneer
layers are treated against termite and borer.
To enhance aesthetics, its in order to veneer
the surface of the panels.
